Where and how can I play squash in Madison?

The only squash courts in Madison are the University of Wisconsin's courts at Nielsen Tennis Stadium.  For directions, hours, policies, etc. please go to: www.recsports.wisc.edu/facilities/nielsen/nielsen.htm

If you are a student, faculty, or staff at the UW Madison or are the domestic partner of someone who is, you can pay the UW Nielsen access fee to use the courts. Go to the Nielsen web site listed above for details.

If you are not affiliated with the University, there are many ways you can get to play on the squash courts at Nielsen.

The best way is to join the Madison Squash Association (MSA) and participate in the MSA seasonal leagues or the MSA court rental program

Another way to play at Nielsen is to be a guest of someone who has paid the UW Nielsen access fee.  Being a guest is not as difficult as it may sound.

  1. Locate a UW affiliated player of appropriate ability on the MSA squash ladder.  Many UW affiliated players use an email address ending "wisc.edu", indicating the person is UW affiliated.
  2. E-mail us at: info@madisonsquash.org to help you arrange for UW affliated play to join as a guest.
  3. Or subscribe to the MSA players list explaining you need to be a guest, your ability level, and times you would like to play.

Welcome to Madison!  See you on court.
